Week 4 Wide Receivers

Only talking positives this week. Keep the questions coming about your team and I'll get back to you on the blog. Thanks for all your comments so far. Advice given up until game time.

Wide Receivers

Randy Moss

Randy Moss wants to say a few things to all the media members who kept saying all those things like “Not a good teammate” ‘Doesn’t Try” “Lost a Step.” Randy is Mr. Monday night and should torch the Bangles secondary. You don’t need me telling you that, but I just love to write about Randy. He’s the best receiver of his generation.

Chad Johnson

Now, Chad Johnson does not like to share the spotlight. He will be thrown to over and over and over again. Look for big Chad to do his part to win the game for the Natti Cats, which they just might do.

TJ

Same thing as Chad but not as much.

Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison

You love them and we do, let them play. Now, let’s get on with who you need to get in there. You know the rest of the top dogs: Roy Williams, T.O and Steven Smith, here’s what you need to push you over the top.

Reggie Brown

The game film says cover Kevin Curtis so they Giants will but it doesn’t say anything about Reggie Brown. He’s going to break out some time and this is the night. The Giants stopped a second year QB last week and almost gave it up at the end. Let this eagle fly.

Joey Galloway

Garcia has it working down in the Bay and should light it up with your Pal Joey. Look for a big day against the Carolina secondary. Division game – big day for offense here. Book it.

Santonio Holmes

Ward is out for the game and the game is in Arizona, which means the Cardinals will be there. Holmes will have a breakout day and the Monday morning papers will be talking about how great he is. If you want to enjoy that read, let him play.

Wes Welker

Everyone Wang Chung tonight, if it’s Monday night and you’re playing the Natti. The #2 DB on the worst defense in football will be on this guy, so look for Wes to have a big night and the ESPN guys to talk about what a great and underappreciated receiver this guy is.

Deion Branch

Think he’s getting into a groove with Hasselbeck? Youbetcha. The Niners will give it up through the air because they want to shut down Shaun. They will.

Ron Curry

Told you last week that this was the guy. Dante is out for Revenge and Curry is a burner. Take some Raider for your Sunday pleasure.

Dwayne Bowe

Only guy on the Chiefs who can score. They will have to put points on the board somehow, and this kid is the real deal. JeMarcus loved him in College and you should have a little school girl crush in the pros.

Brandon Marshall

The Colts will blast the Broncos and they should give up some yards in the comeback attempt. Marshal will have a big game as Walker is limping and double covered anyway. Cutler is throwing safer passes to cut down on the picks and Marshall does much after the catch.

Laveranues Coles

The Bills? No way they stop the Jets who seem to be on a bit of a roll. Jones will open up the offense and Coles will catch at least one TD in this game. Mark my words.

Week IV Quarterbacks

Week 4 Quarterbacks

Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Carson Palmer. You got 'em and you're lucky. It's still warm out and these guys are winning games. For the rest of you out there that waiting until the later rounds to grab a QB, here's where your coach strategy comes in.

I'd also like to invite suggestions on how to improve the blog and other features you'd like to see as the season goes on. And now, on with the show.

Jon Kitna

Who else picks against the Bears? Well, not all the others will follow, but remember who told you the secret first. The Lions just don't have bad days offensively and won't this week either. The got embarrassed last week and want to show everyone that they're ligit. We're not sure how legit the defense is, but that offensive can score on anyone and the Bears, dating back to least season, can be passed on. Don't sleep on Kitna this week. I made a mistake last week but will not do the same thign again.

Tony Romo

The Rams are a mess. If I were a betting man, which thanks to fantasy I no longer am, I would take whatever points Vegas gives and bet the Cowboys in this one. Tony Romo is for real and by the end of the year should be mentioned in the same sentence as the Big 3 Qbs of the day. He is torch the Rams at home this week and you can enjoy whatever T.O. does as a bonus.

Ben Rothlisberger

Ben Goes to the dry lands of Arizona for some sun and fun before the Steelers settle down for their long winter season. Ben usually explodes after a defense stacks the line against Parker. Don't be scared off by the fact that the Steelers old O coordinator is leading the way for the other side. The Cards let the Ravens offense score all over them so the Steel show should do that and more.

Donavann McNabb

Is he back or was that just the Lions? We will see on Sunday Night as the Giants D that brought them back against the Redskins looks to have McNabb back on his backside. He should rebound and will perhaps find some receivers down field for a big gain or two. Look for a solid performance from the big man, but if Brian Westbrook is really that banged up, it might just be a nice diner instead of a 5 course meal.

Eli Manning

Everyone's forgetting about Eli but with the lack of a running game, this kid is really stepping up and keeping his Giants from falling off the face of the football planet. With no Plex in there it's going to be a tough go without his Plexipal, but the Braided one is tough enough to give it a go out there and just might show up on the pitch. Sorry about there, been writing about Manchester United in the real world this week.

Phillip Rivers

Stop looking up at Ele Phil. Rivers must step up and prove himself this year. He is a fire breather for sure and last year he had Marty to breathe fire back. The laid back Coach Turner approach is not doing much to steer young Phillip in the right direction and this week he's going to have to take his shots down field when LT softens up the Defense. Kansas City is desperate but on they're on the road. Not much of a threat. Look for a couple of TD grabs from big Antonio Gates and a long one, we hope, from Hype Machine Vincent Jackson.

Jeff Garcia

Garcia make it up this high because of his consistency issues. You might want to check the injury report before you give him a go, but Gruden plays within the division very well because of his insanity and preparation. Garcia will be ready to go and Tampa Bay will score on a surprisingly soft Carolina Defense. Why is everyone always so surprised?

OK, OK, GRAB YOUR HELMET AND WE'LL SEE

Brett Farve

On the Road. Confident and in a dome. Smells like a trap. Don't expect greatness this week, but a couple hundred yards and a TD in a knock Down NFC Central Game is what I'm looking at.

Matt Hasselbeck

2 Tds and some yards. Matt Matt, your receivers come and go but you just stay the same. Something smells a little fishy for this week's battle in the Bay but Matt's from Seattle and they toss fish in the streets up there, right?

David Carr

Is he playing in this game? Looks like it. I like redemption games and really like Carr in this one. If he hands the ball of 30 times to Foster and Williams, he'll have enough time to toss in a few Touchdowns. The likelihood is that he would be a wavier wire acquisition so if you're stud has a bye, take David out to lunch and see how he behaves.

Chad Pennington

He's going to have a Monster game against the Bills but you can't have Chad up at the top because he just might not finish the game.

Dante's Revenge Raider Ride

Do you want to hop aboard this wild ride? This would be the week to do it against the Fins who are right for the picking against a unified Raider squad looking to give everyone a nice ride back home and a free jumpsuit from Al when they get back to Oaktown.

CAN YOU TAKE NOTES ON THE GAME

Trent Green

The Raiders will shut him down and the boos will shower down from all around the sunshine state.

Joey Harrington

That Houston Defense is tougher than anyone thinks and there's no way you should ever bank on Joey Harrington for anything other than a surprise. You don't want a Joey Harrington surprise, do you?

Any Bills QB

If Lossman doesn't start, then the guy who wasn't good enough to take Lossman's job will. Nothing Nice.

Derrick Anderson

Ray Lewis is going to eat him and make a personal highlight reel after of it.

Steve McNair

The Ravens will Run and Hit and Hit and Run and Run and Hit and...You get the point, right?

Receivers on the way Friday.

Week IV Running Backs

Week III is in the books and if you've been following the blog, you did well on Ron Curry and believed in Marion Barber III enough to get your two TDS last Sunday Night. Of course, I apologize to the man who wrote me and asked if I should start Jason Campbell instead of Jon Kitna. The lesson learned and that should be remembered is that a desperate and angry team from the NFC East is always dangerous.

Still, those following here have been eating up the fantasy points and eating well.

Here are Week IIIs top Running Backs as we see them now. On Saturday, I'll be filing a last minute report card, but for now, it's time to forget about last week and concentrate on the Now before the Now become the past.

Marion Barber III

The Best Running Back in Football? For sure he's the starting Running Back on the best scoring team in football so make sure he's in and stays in. Did you see that against Chicago last week? Did I tell you he was going to do that? I did. He did. You should keep him in for what will be the last warm weather game of the season.

LT

He's angry. He's playing the Chiefs. He's going to get the ball 30 times and lose him mind. Don't trade him to that person in your league who is dangling what looks like a steak but on closer inspection is just a can of spam in a different package. Inspect your trades and disregard your emotions. LT will come through.

Larry Johnson

Same thing. Many team owners are looking to dump the new multi-million dollar man, but remember, he held out in training camp and said that he would be at full strength in week 4. It's week 4. Diego will look to unload, but Johnson will be motivated to put his team even and silence his critics. Remember, this is the man who says he runs with the other great running backs on his mind at all times. Not really a chance to take, but don't bench him.

Cedric Benson

I saw the fumble last week too. However, Brian Westbrook lost his mind against the Lions and Benson is looking to get his back this week by turning the Lions into house cats that are afraid to step outside their litter box. Look for a Big Dennis Rodman in this game – I'm talking of course about a rebound and not a large man in a wedding dress.

Adrian Peterson

Again, you'll see tons of talk this week from the experts, the same ones who told you to bench Marion Barber III, to sit Peterson this game against a good Packers D. True enough, but the Pack are playing on the Road in a division game against a desperate team after a big win. The game smells of a letdown and Peterson is going to have a huge day because of it. Hey, you're here because I tell you what others are afraid to.

Willie Parker

Pittsburg has been struggling in the Red Zone in the early going, but Parker should hit his stride against the Cardinals. The Steelers showed they will not allow a letdown game this year by sacking up against the Niners and blowing them out. Parker owners would like to see the Red Zone a little more, but the weather will turn eventually, so for now enjoy the yards. That Davenport Long Run at the end of the game was a heartbreaker for those waiting for Fast Willie.

Joey Addai

Should you? Should you not? Is this the week they run it? Is it the week Peyton tosses for 4 Tds? You can never tell, but one thing for sure is that Addai is in the mix no matter what and can never be benched unless you are fond of late Sunday nights drinking alone thinking of what might have been. Looks appealing in a movie but in real life, even fantasy reality, it can be devestating.

Sammy Morris

Sam I am? Got to have him in there for TD leagues. Maroney owners don't like it one bit, but it's now obvious that Morris is going to get the goal line carries this year in an effort to keep Maroney from taking those big licks with the defense concentrated on him. If you drafted him you're a genius but the likelihood is that you picked him up off the waiver wire. Put him in against the Natti on Monday night. Sammy will sing you the Candy Man if you do.

Marshawn Lynch

He's tough and proven that he can learn how to run over the course of a season. I like him this week against the Jets, especially in yardage leagues. He will see the majority of the offense load this week, so if you drafted the rookie high on your team, this could be just the place to let him go. The Jets are not a great team and they might think a game against Buffalo is a gimme. It's not. They just got spanked last week against the Pats and should look to rebound against their AFC East rivals.

Willis Magahee

Going against Cleveland, you really have to start anyone you may have on the Ravens. Not too much of your fantasy world should live in Baltimore, but if you have the Deep Purple in your stable, let them go against the Browns, who just gave the Raiders their first win of the year.

LaMont Jordan

The Raiders are playing well and are Shady time out away from being 2-0. This is the last week before Mr. Rhodes comes back and LaMont wants to make sure he has a job to support his love of the Oakland eating establishments. Who can blame him. Look for LaMont to continue his return to form this year with a big game against the Dolphins, who are the east coast version of the Kansas City Chiefs. Oh yeah, do you think Caulpepper wants this victory?

HEY YOU, GET READY TO DANCE IF MY DATE DOESN'T SHOW UP

Ronnie Brown

Glad to see you again, hope you stick around this time. Against the Raider, he'll have more than enough chances because the Silver and Black play it close each game. Brown owners never know what to think about this guy, but he shows flashes of brilliance. Now flashes are great if you're a fantasy owner playing the Raiders but not so great if you're taking your kid out for a stroll in the park. Ron might do you right this week.

Lawrence Maroney

Until the former 1st round pick gets his carries on the goal line, he'll always be down here. Big yards here, but Maroney is like winning a prize at the game where you shoot the clown in the mouth to see if you can get the balloon to explode, winning that game, only to find that there were only a few other people playing and all you get it the small Elmo with an eye missing. Nice to win, but you want more.

Rudi Johnson

We don't know if he's going to play, but he hasn't been right this year. Not having a viable #2 take some carries from him is wearing the former Auburn star down and quick. Pick up Kenny Watson on waivers just to make sure. I'll keep you up to date on Rudi Watch 2007. Besides, the Patriots might decide to blow out the Natti Early on Monday night. If not, look for the Bengals to play ball control which could mean a big night for Rudi if Healthy.

Shaun Alexander

Now his wrist is broken. How long before the man with the Golden smile breaks down like a '69 Cadi and you just have to leave it on the street, smoking with the hood open and fluids spilling all over the concrete? Running Backs need their wrists and hands, right. Ask yourself that question and don't expect too much out of Shaun this week, especially on the Road in the Bay.

Frank Gore

How healthy is this guy? We'll see this week. The Seahawks are due for an emotional letdown this week after their win against the Natti so if Gore is healed, he should have a nice day. Wait till midway through the 3rd quarter for your Long TD run.

Brain Leonard

Rookie out of Rutgers in the NFL? What makes you think he's going to do any better than Steven Jackson? Well, he's playing for his career this week so motivation has a way of making kids doing things they don't normally do. If you have him, now is the time to try out your bonus toy.

NOT THIS WEEK

Warrick Dunn

Houston has a good defense and they will bottle up Dunn and force Joey to beat them. If you're thinking about pulling a Jarious Norwood out of the hat, make sure you look at what he left for you in there before putting it on again.

Thomas Jones

Drop him. He should have never left Chicago. Thomas, you're a great back, but something is not right about you being on the Jets. Maybe it is though.

Jamal Lewis

Is that Natti game out of your memory? Should be. This is Baltimore. Have you traded this guy yet? Don't. He will have good game this year, just not this week. Respect due, but have a seat. Thank you very much.

Deshaun Foster

Don't go chasing last weeks points. Tampa Bay is playing well and should be able to get to David Carr Enough to make the Panthers, well, the Panthers. This team will frustrate you all season long. It has me.

That's it for the Running Backs. Please keep those questions coming about your team, I enjoy hearing everything. Be well and Happy Fantasy to all. Well, now that the season is underway, it's victory or nothing. Happiness is a far way off.

Week 3 Receivers

It is better to give than to Receiver, except of course, if you’re one of these guys. The top burners should be in there of course, so you don’t need me to tell you to start CHAD JOHNSON, REGGIE WAYNE, TJ HOUSHMANZADEH (He’s a top dog now) or MARVIN MARVIN on the night shift. Here, however, are the others you should be fielding this week.

Santana Moss

Jason Campbell won’t miss him on the long bomb this week. Get him off your bench and start him ahead of the likes of Reggie Brown and the rest of the second tier receivers. The Skins will shred this week. Best believe. If you have Antwon Randell El, let him fly as well. Giants can’t stop the funk.

Terrell Owens

Don’t be afraid of the big bad Bears because T.O. isn’t. He’ll have a special dance for this one and you don’t want him dancing alone. The rule in Fantasy Football is not to bench your studs, and this week is no different. The Bears can be passed on. Don’t pass on this man.

Randy Moss

Heeeee’s back. Can’t be stopped. Won’t be stopped. He’ll set records this year if he stays healthy and motivated, which, at this point, he seems to be.

Braylon Edwards

The light went on last week and should stay that way throughout the season. The Raiders pass defense is OK, but Edwards has always had the skills and this is now year 3. That’s the special one for receivers. Take him off the bench and let him go. The game might be a scoring festival.

Vincent Jackson

Waiting for the Chargers? Wait no longer. The Packers D is nice, but the Chargers are going to wake up this week and you don’t want to miss the breakfast they’ll cook for you if you don’t run out the door. Jackson will break lose this week because the Packers won’t game plan for them.

The Seahawks Receivers

All of the them. Start all of them. Nobody has more than one, so if you have any of these Northwest birds, let them fly. I said let them fly!!!!

Ron Curry

The Raiders will throw on the Browns and Mr. Curry seems like he’s the one catching the Rocks flying out of the Black hole. That sounds a little strange I know, but if you have any Raiders on your squad, this is one of those soft schedule weeks to give them a go. Try it, you like it – I promise.

Javon Walker and Brandon Marshall

Not a big Jay Cutler fan, but Walker and Marshall will catch their passes. Especially if you’re in a yardage league, let these guys run and you’ll pick up some meat and taters points needed to put you over the top.

Steve Smith

All Day long. ALL DAY LONG, which will only be a half, so don’t look for the Monsters are Us stats, but he will have enough by half time to make you happy. You want to be happy, don’t you?

Joey Galloway

Have you learned your lesson yet?

Isac Bruce and Tory Holt

Good games but not great. If you like vanilla ice cream, these guys will make you happy. If you’re looking for a banana split of chocolate Sunday, look elsewhere. This is football though, what are thinking about that kind of stuff for though?

SIT DOWN SON, TODAY WE’RE GOING WITH SOMEONE ELSE

Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes

The Niners have a good pass D and the Steelers will be content to run all day long.

Lee Evens

They’re going to smash this guy in the face a few times. No way he breaks away. Although, benching him always runs the risk of not getting that 77 yard TD.

Larry Fitz and Anquon Boldwin

People who bough cheap in Arizona are finding that you get what you pay for. If you go somewhere else this week, you might be happy. If you have to play them, make sure you pray hard the night before. You never know, God takes off on Sundays to watch football.

Reggie Brown

This guy has killed many a fantasy owner. If you have other options, look at them. Mr. McNabb is just not right. A bad year for Philly. Dark days are on the way.

Roy Williams

Not this week. Is Mr. Miracle OK? Game time look he will be. If Kitna plays then move Williams to the starting line up.

Good luck to all. Looking forward to your questions about your teams.

Week 3 Running Backs

Hit the Ground with these guys and you’ll be happy come Monday.

Shaun Alexander

Facing a bad defense and an offense that they want to keep off the field? Can’t think of anything better for a stud running back to be facing. Anyone who took Larry Johnson ahead of this guy should be taking a big dose of something else. Go on Shaun, show ‘em what you got.

Willie Parker

He’s the best back in football so far. Like Steven Jackson last year, he’s having a little trouble finishing off those big days by finding the end zone, but that will change as he comes into his own I the 2nd year of being the man. The Niners on the road in the Burg won’t be able to hang. Willie will star for you this week.

Rudi Johnson

You know Rudi. Steady meat all season long, but, there are those games when he breaks out and buys you some wine and appetizers as well. This is the week. Seattle has no defense to speak of and Marvin Lewis should look to slow down the offense and let Rudi Run. Watch him bring it home for you this week.

Adrian Peterson

A bit of a bust last week, but here’s he’s playing against the Kansas City Chiefs who can’t stop ghosts of their own past much less a prime young running back looking to get back on track. Fantasy is all about match ups each week, so, Yo Adrian, you can do it this week. “Goin’ to Kansas City, Kansas City here I come…”

Steven Jackson

OK. You’re angry that Mr. Jackson isn’t taking it to the house like the video game commercial but you shouldn’t be. The Rams have started slow and have had some injuries to deal with. The NFL is all about making adjustments and Mr. Jackson should be just fine, so look for a breakout game at Tampa Bay this week.

Chris Brown

Yep. Nawlins on Monday night and this is the guy that nobody wanted as a free agent. Statement games such as this make for nice contracts and Mr. Brown is for sure looking for one. He should shred the Saints D as Jeff Fisher, who just got a new contract himself, will ball control all night long to keep thing moving as he likes them to.

Joey Addai

You gotta pick your week with this guy and this is one you don’t want to miss. Adai and the Colts will get up early on the Andre Johnsonless Texans and run like a man named Gump all day long. Addai owners will have many a nervous weekends but this is not one of them.

Clinton Portis

He’s healthy and playing the Giants. If you were healthy and playing the Giants – well, let’s not go overboard, that’s why you play fantasy and not the real thing. Don’t believe too much of the Jason Campbell hype you’ve been reading this week. Portis is still the focal point of the offense.

LaMont Jordan

Cleveland doesn’t stop anyone and LaMont is hearing the footsteps of Mr Rhodes ending his suspension in a few weeks. LaMont and the Raiders look to have some swagger this year, so don’t sleep on the Silver and Black.

Marion Barber III

Am I picking a RB against the Bears? I am. The Cowboys have enough weapons to keep the mid west mashers off little Marion who is turning out the be the steal and the steel of the fantasy draft. He’s be near the top of the starters list if not playing Chicago, but he is, and will still bust out. Believe.

Ahmad Green

Playing the Colts, the Texans will attempt to stay in the game by giving Green a heavy does of the rock. It’s in Texas so the Colts won’t be able to thrive off of their Indiana faithful all game long. Look for Green to continue this season’s success.

Carnell Williams

The Rams are giving it up like it’s prom night. If you could go back and do it all over again, wouldn’t you drive a Caddy to prom? I would. Either way, he’s going to bust a few long runs and at least a score against the Rams. Everyone does.

DON’T TAKE THAT HELMET OFF YET KID

Mo Jones Drew

At some point, all of these platoon RB situations are going to fall by the waste side and the vets are going to give way to the stars of tomorrow. Fred Taylor, time to move out of the way and let Mo have 20 carries a game. This might be the week he does it. Denver can cover the pass but the Raiders ran all day long. Give Mo a shot.

Travis Henry

Has not broken out and the Jags, despite being embarrassed in their opener, still have a nice enough Run D to keep Mr. Henry in check, but you know he’s going to go over the top one of these weeks. I say he’s a solid number 2 with a shot to break out, so get him in there and let him play. Special props to anyone who knows what sports movie has the “Let them Play” chant in it.

Brian Westbrook

Has not had his breakout game yet and the Lions should provide him a chance to score once through the air while racking up big yards. Let your Eagles fly this week. If they can’t, it might be time to take them outback and make some scrapple.

Willis of Baltimore

Sir Willis, this is the game you prove yourself. Arizona is on the way and you should be able to carve them up. Who else on your offensive offense is going to do such things? Don’t be afraid of the Ravens this week, they’ll have to score and they’ll have to keep Zona on the floor.

NO SIR, I SAID GRAB A SEAT, NOT FEEL THE HEAT

Edge James

There was a time when the future Hall of Famer could look the Ravens D in the face and take their best shots. Not anymore. Look for another way to win this week if Edge is carrying the rock for you. Other weeks will be better. This is not other weeks.

Frank Gore

Against the Steelers on the road? No sir. The Niners are going to get crushed and Gore won’t have a chance to do his thing. We love you Frank, but love will not keep us together this week.

Jamal Lewis

Did you trade him last week? You should have. No way does that again. The Raiders are twice the team the Orange cats are on defense which isn’t saying much. Not this week Jamal.

Lawrence Maroney

He has not been getting the ball and it will be the Brady Show this week again. Don’t trust him until the weather turns cold.

Marshawn Lynch

A Rookie against the Pats when they’re rolling. You must be rolling if you think Marshawn can handle it.

Week 3 Quarterbacks

Alright Fantasy Football Fans, Here we go with week 3. Now that the smoke is clearing, we can see the difference between the Fantasy Mags and the real deal. Let’s start with Quarterbacks as everyone usually have more than one that they’d like.

If you’ve been with me since the get go, you know that I’ve been all over Matt Schuab as the stud that nobody wants to let their mare get near. If you listened to me in weeks one and two, then you due for some pony treats sometime in April.

On the miss side of things, I guess Mr. McNabb’s knee is hurting much worse than we thought it was. People are sending me letters about Reggie Brown at a clip faster than O.J. can turn bail money.

Here we go for the Signal Callers

Carson Palmer

Told you last week that he’d have a better day than Manning. You need me to tell you to put him in against the Natti? Fugetaboutit. Palmer might rewrite the history books this year.

Peyton Manning

On the Road with Jack Kerouac in Houston matters nothing to the man who is tired of hearing about how the Patriots are the better team and that Tom Brady has the most tools in football.

Jason Campbell

The Kid is going to shred the Giants this weekend. If he’s on your bench let him in their and play. With Santana Moss starting to click and Chris Cooley letting the big fella out of Auburn know it’s ok to dump it off, the light has gone on and it feels so good. Let all of your Redskins fly this week.

Tom Brady

Buffalo Bill won’t you come out tonight? No chance for these guys. The game might be over by half time and Tom Poster Boy is going to light it up again. No way Big Bad Bill takes his foot off the metal.

Matt Leinart

I know he’s playing the Ravens on the road, but there’s this nagging feeling, like something you wake up to when it’s too late only now its not to late, that Matt is going to take advantage of an over aggressive Baltimore Defense and have a couple of Long Scores this week.

Big Ben

The Niners are coming to town and they don’t travel well. Couple that with the fact that the Steelers are starting to do as they please. Besides, those new uniforms were so sick they look like a team that just walked out of a video game and were about to destroy for fun. The villains you love to cheer for are back.

Donavan McNabb

Well this is it. Either the love affair ends here and you hand him a suitcase or you give him one last shot. At home against the Lions is his best chance to make good. No need to bench him now as he probably cost you a bunch. However, it’s early enough in the season to see just what you have in your team. Remember, you have to talk with your players and make sure they’re for real even though they’re not. But they are.

They are.

Jake Delhome

Atlanta is playing for next year already. Young coach. Team can’t do a think Joey Harrington knowing he’s no good and that they got someone who isn’t any good either but is going to take his job anyway. We all work for a living, you know how that feels?
Jake and Mr. Smith are going to have an all you can eat Jimmy Buffet on Sunday. Everyone is invited.

Tony Romo

Don’t be afraid of the Bears. The Cowboys are ready to take the NFC outright and this is the game where they deliver. Remember to all of you who slept on Romo on draft day: T.O. is still one of the best wideouts in the game so the man throwing it to him is going to look like he should be printed on Money. Dallas is back, sorry NFC East fans.

Vince Young

Vince, next year, I’m going to have you just under Manning and Carson because I believe you are possibly the best football player in the NFL right now. I mean, this guy is Jordan like because he makes his team better, no matter who is around him, and wills them to victory. So sick.

KEEP YOUR HELMET ON KID

Derrick Anderson

Why is everyone so surprised the Raiders D is giving up big plays. The Raiders can be had and have been being had all season long. Doom hangs around the silver and black like that guy in the office with a hunch who carries his plastic water cup slowly away from his desk and taps his knuckles to music that isn’t playing.

Drew Breese

When I see it, I’ll believe it. The Saints are way off and Drew misses big Joe Horn who used to slap himself in the face to get ready for games. Did he slap himself or did somebody else slap him. Monday night he will be at home and pumped up, but Vince Young and the Titans will be waiting. Remember the Titans.

Matt Hasselbeck

I think Seattle is going to try to ground control to major Tom this game away, but Matt always tosses a few into the Zone. If the Browns can look that good against the Natti, the Hawks are going to be adequate. This is the week that Matt will do you right.

NO NO SON, I SAID YOU CAN’T WIN, NOT GET IN!

Raiders QBs – I told you all year long and I’m telling you again. Stay away.

Jay Cutler

Jacksonville is going to smash the young Broncos and they have seen Travis Henry so many times before. No way Cutler goes off this week. Just don’t feel it. If you have somewhere else to go, then go there, but the kid almost lost to the Raiders last week.

Alex Smith

You don’t need me to tell you anything about this guy. Third year #1 pick. Maybe McNabb was right. Where is the media with this kid anyways.

Rex Grossman

Dallas is going to do a number on him. Besides, they just signed a very mad ex employee who would like nothing better than to light Grossman up and tell all his new mates about how they do things in Chicago.

As always, please post any questions about your own team and I’ll be glad to answer. Look for Wide Receivers on Thursday.

Week 2 Wide Receivers

WR Chad Johnson

Chad had 95 yards and a TD before halftime last week and that was against the Ravens. The Browns are going to give it up and you know Chad has been rehearsing some new moves in preparation for this game. Looks like he's dialed in. With Rudi getting going in the running this week, Johnson should break loose all day long. Of course, he may drop a few looks to...

WR T.J. Houshmanzadeh

Check the stats. The week after Chad blows up, TJ usually has a pretty good game himself. Look for the pony tailed Bengal to bring in a few scores this weekend. Working against Cleveland's #2 defensive back is going to be sweet.

WR Reggie Wayne

If not for Cleveland this week, I'd have Wayne up top. Love the kid. If you followed me last week, you knew he was the best out there. I think the Titans are going to play Indy tight this weekend, so don't expect the same blow out comb performance, but he'll still get over 100 yards and a TD.

Steve Smith

He's great. Any questions? At home against Houston he should continue towards the Hall of Fame. For a receiver to blow up he needs to be Nasty (Smith is) and play against a poor defense. As good as Houston looked last week, that was against Kansas City. Let him fly. You didn't need me for that.

Terrell Owens

Miami is supposed to have a sick D this year but The Redskins put on a show against them last week. T Owens is having a love fest with Tony Romo that should continue throughout the year. Best believe he's going to continue to do well at home and burn whoever Miami decides to put on him.

Bears Receivers

If there is anyone out there who has more than one Chicago receiver on their squad this year, you probably don't have the mental capacity to be reading this article. Put your Bears in this week and let them know that if they don't score against KC, they will be cut and never heard from again. You need to speak to your fantasy players as if they were real people.

Tory Holt

The Rams offense starts with Tory, not Steven Jackson. I'm sure Mr. Holt explained that to everyone in the locker room this weekend. Look for Holt to have a ton of years this week and at least one long TD grab. Once the air attack gets going, Jackson will start to pound. Until then, it will Be Tory Tory Tory did it again.

Marivn Harrison

Marvin 70- 80 yards and a TD. That's what you got him for, right. However, if you had the choice between him and Wayne and chose Marvin, you're happy, but you're not full of gigles.

Marques Colston

Hmm. He's your #1, right, but didn't play like it last week. What's to make of the Saints? Nothing after a week. Put the sophmore in and hope that he can put up the numbers you need out of that slot. Is he missing Joe Horn just a little bit?

Arizona Dudes – Keep hope alive! Leinart was a little rusty last week but the kid is OK. They will keep passing it until Arizon breaks through. Don't panic. It's only week 2.

Randy Moss

He's Randy Moss people. He's back. He's Open. He's at home again. No way the Chargers can play that kind of D two weeks in a row. Can they? No matter, Randy has a huge game again. It appears that Moss was lost in the darnkness of Oakland for the past 2 seasons and is ready to cement is place as one of the the greatest receivers of all time.

Roy Williams

No, not Calvin Johnson. That was against the Raiders. Roy is going to continue to have a great year and is finally with a QB who is capable of sending the ball his way – just how he likes it. On any other team this guy would already be considered one of the best receivers in the game.

Get Ready Kid

Santana Moss

Monday night. You know he wants to be on prime time and once he's there, he's going to explode. Philly does not have Lito Shepard this week and Jason Campbell seemed like he was going to be OK. Moss was quiet last week but don't expect that to last.

Reggie Brown

He bombed last week but give him a break. Opening up in Green Bay is a tough job. Granted, this is the NFL and there are no easy pickings for anyone, but Reggie should step it up this week. If you have him as your solid #2 don't sit him down for a sexy match up. After all, this is Monday Night football and Mr. McNabb always has a great game on these nights.

Vincent Jackson

Stop LT. Stop Antonio. Well, Antonio has a bad back this week, so he might just stop himself. The guy to watch here is Jackson because the Pats, with all the controversy this week, might not have covered that table setting in their practice tape room. Jackson is on everyone's sleeper list, so this might be the week he wakes up. Should have a score this week.

Brandon Marshall

Playing the Raiders this week Mr. Marshall will destroy that secondary. They are not that good and got burned by Detroit at home. What's going to happen on the road with Dean Moriarty in Denver? Nothing good. Take him off your bench and get him the ball. You'll be happy you listened to me on this one.

Hines Ward / Santonio Holmes

A touchdown and big yards for both are not out of the question for these two. Ward is obviously the possession receiver. The Bills were not that impressive and the loss of Nate Clemens is obviously hurting this team more than we though. The offense is not doing enough to keep the defense off the field which could be a big problem against this emerging wide receiver tandom.

Where Do you think You're Going?

Ron Curry

Nice game last week Ron. No way it happens again in Denver. They saw you on tape and are ready to stop you. Jerry Porter might be a better call this week than Curry.

Darryl Jackson / Arnez Battle – Don't start any of your Niners on the Road this year. Ya Heard?

The other Patriots Wide Receivers – Don't buy into last weeks show. Nobody other than Moss is going to score through the air this week. That's the truth, Ruth.

Derick Mason

You're tempted because of what the Pats did against the Jets last week, but McNair is hurt and this game is going to be a running clinic. Sure, their might be a Todd Heap Touchdown and a defensive score or two from the Ravens, but this is a WIN IT game, and not one to open up the play book.

Plaxico

No last name needed here. Don't go chasing Waterfalls or last week's points. Eli is most likely out and that means the last remaining Fat Boy will be starting. The most action Plax will see will be unhooking his chinstrap in frustration between plays.

Week 2 Quarterbacks - Starters and Bench Warmers

Starters

Peyton Manning

Nothing to say. He's just the best ever. His Jordan – like performance in the prime of his career continues. You don't need me to tell you that.

Carson Palmer

He did well against B More and the Wire last week and now rolls into Cleveland where Big Ben just torched them for 4 scores. The Browns Part II are already playing for next year – well, actually they're playing for The Cowboys next year. Palmer will have a huge day passing. The only problem might be that he's so far head they just grind it out with Rudi, but Carson will get his and yours.

Drew Breese

Last week they got a little too cute and it cost them. Besides, the Colts were so amped up in front of that Indy crowd. Things might be a little different in Tampa Bay. With a hurting offense, the defense will wear down from being on the field so much which will allow for a big day out of Mr. Breese. Don't bail out because of one bad game.

Rex Grossman

Yep. You heard it hear. I gave you Matt Schuab last week and if you listened you did well. This week, Grossman is at home against what could very well be the worst team in football. The Chargers bottled up what was supposed to be a new look offense for the Bears, but don't expect that two weeks in a row. Grossman has shown that he can exploit bad defenses, so look for him to have a few big passing plays for Tds.

Matt Leinart

At home against Seattle, the Cardinals should get on track. People were a little worried about Leinarts stats last week and may have questioned if he could get it done, but it might have just been a warm up game for the savior of Arizona. NFC West showdowns usually produce tons of fantasy points, last week's game being an exception.

Jake Delhome

On again off again. Delhome looked outstanding on the road last week in St. Louis, so there's no reason to believe we won't be the same at home against the Texans. Sure Texas held their opponent to 3 points lasts week, but that was Kansas City. Go with Jake and you'll look like a genius in your league for waiting on a QB till the later rounds. You like to look good, don't you?

Tony Romo

Miami has a great D which is why Romo is not any higher than this. Also, don't get too excited about last week's Hall of Fame like Game. The Giants were a bad defensive team last year and did very little to get better in the off season. If Big Mike is a step of two slow because he missed so much of camp. Still, Romo should get the better of the fins and put up solid digits for your squad. You got a steal if you're holding this guy.

Donavan McNabb

That was the Packers at home with a really bad game plan for Andy Reid and two huge mistakes by the special teams unit. Look for Big D to take it to the house as he always does on Monday night. If you don't start him, his mom might not let you have any of the Chunky Soup. This is a division game and Reid knows how to game plan for these guys. Don't be shy – let you're eagles fly. OK, that's my only rhyme of the week, I promise.

Marc Bulger

Orlando Pace is gone so Bulger is going to have to get rid of the Rock quick and often. These two always stack the points on top of each other and Mr. Bulger rarely has two bad weeks in a row. Let him start but give him a little pep talk before the game. Looked like Tory Holt was Healthy last week, no?

Big Ben

Monster season on the way and we told you from the get go. Willie Parker may eat some of those Tds this week as the line won't be so stacked against him, but Ben is back and is a must start every week regardless of the match up. The Steelers are the sleeper team of the year. Mark it down.

Stay Alert Kid!

Matt Schuab

We like this kid and we're sticking with him. On the road in Carolina is a tough place to play, but he was in the NFC south for a few years and knows how to game plan for these guys. Might be the upset of the week. Besides, you get the feeling that Andre Johnson is in for a huge year.

Brett Farve

Why not? The Giants looked so awful last week there's no reason to believe that Mr. Football won't go to town on the Defense. If you have him, you now he always has a few really outstanding games a year and this one might just be one of them.

Jay Cutler

There are some things in the fantasy world that you always have to pounce on. One of them is the Raiders on the road. The Lions tore up the Ders on the road last week so Cutler should be in for a nice feast under that giant bronco in the sky. Give him a go and you'll like what you find waiting for you at the end of the day.

Tom Brady

This is going to be a drag down game where the Pats will have trouble getting it done. Brady will not lose his mind as he did last week and will not look like God as Sports Illustrated seems to think he does. Too many Boston Fans out there methinks. Anyhow, Brady should have a good game but not a great one.

Eli Manning

If he goes, you gotta start him because of his heart. Keep an eye on the injury report. You should know by game time if he's ready. Eli looks like he's steady meat these days. It won't always be the Siv Dallas D, but it will be productive.

Where Do You Think You're Going?

Phil Rivers

Big Bad Bill has a history of rattling young Quarterbacks and Phil is a little too emotional for me. Rivers needs to be played in spots until he can prove he's steady meat. Not yet. I would sit him if there was a better option on your squad.

Jon Kitna

Not this week. The Vikes have one of the best defenses in the league and will ball control all day long. Kitna needs an entire game to pile up stats but I don't think the purple people eaters will let him have his way.

Raider QB

In Denver. On the Road. Against the two best corners in the business. Doesn't matter who gets the start, they should not be looking at PT from your team. Besides, the Raiders have not beat and AFC west opponent in 14 tries and Mike Shanahan makes sure the Raiders don't win on his turf.

JP Lossman

I told you last week and I'm telling you again, not yet. Pittsburg's gonna MURDA this guy. Lee Evens, what's it feel like to receive the attention you deserve. What makes a player great is his ability to perform with expectations. Haven't seen that from JP yet. Just wait though.

Week 2

What a start to the season.

For those of you who followed my lead, your run to destiny to open the season worked out well. Well, for the most part anyway. And for my friend who blasted me for telling him to keep Brian Westbrook on the Bench, I still haven't heard back from you.

Jerry Porter gave way to Ron Curry and that hurt me a little bit, but My Texans came through and if you believed in me, well, you're happy tonight.

And, did I say something about Reggie Wayne having a better night that Marvin Marvin?

I'll be posting the QB list Thursdays and the RB and WR Lists on Fridays.

For now, I'll be answering Questions.

Lisa Asks:

Who should I start out of these 3:

Ronnie Brown
Tatum Bell
"That Ward Guy" from the Giants

For me, Because Bell is going up against the tough Vikes D and "That Ward Guy" is going against Green Bay, I would let Ron Brown Carry the rock. The Cowboys didn't look like they were slowing anyone down and the Dolphins need to give it to someone. Tough match ups to be sure.

Thanks for all of your emails and participation. Looks for more to come this week.

Week 1 Quarterbacks - Starters and Bench Warmers

All the comments coming in are great. I'll still answer specific questions up to 5:00 P.M EST. Here are the QBs for this week. We're building a nice Fantasy Community here. Please keep commenting and, if you have any suggestions, please let me know.

WEEK ONE - QBs

Peyton Manning

What? WHAT?

Drew Brees

Drew will have to match Manning toss for toss, which sounds a little strange, but hey, they guys are from Nawlins, right? Anyhow, Drew is going to have another monster year this year. He has improved every year he's been a QB and has his sight set on a ring (and a possible match up with San Diego). He's as tough as Tom Brady so now we're going to see if he's consistent.

Mr. McNabb

I don't think Green Bay's going to give it up like it's prom night, but McNabb will get his as the defense tires out late in the game. Expect some big bombs and many happy returns for those of you who waited until the 3rd round after picking up a couple of Running Backs for the vet who no longer plays at the vet. Let your Eagles fly this week.

Matt Leinart

This game is always a shootout for the Birds – so they new look risers out of phoenix will look to make an early claim on the NFC west. If not for the other sweet match ups this week, Leinart might be on the top of this list. I'm not using last years stats to talk about this year's players, but if you want to look for yourself, go ahead. Matt starts his MVP quest right here.

Ben Roethlisberger

If you've been reading my blog, you know that I think Big Ben and the Steelers are the poor man's Colts this year. Against the Browns, the Steelers will open things up like a 5 year old on Christmas morning. Somewhere on the wire this morning I heard that the Browns starting Defensive Back Leigh Boddon was arrested recently and does not know if he will start on Sunday. Doesn't matter. Ben will DOMINATE in this game.

Carson Palmer

Still gotta start him vs. the Ravens. Never sit your studs. It will hurt you more times than it hurts. Remember, you have to treat this as a real team and field the players you think have the best chance at winning. Carson is the 2nd best QB in the game and will do just fine on Monday night.

Tom Brady

Nothing wrong with Vanilla Ice Cream, even if you drop it now and then and it gathers a little Moss.

Matt Hasselback

Seattle dominates at home and Matt is really enjoying being healthy and underappreciatted. Look for all of the Seahawks to respond well to the challenge this year. Matt will be fine, even with the loss of Mr. D. Jackson. With Big Shaun carving up yards, Hesselbeck will be primed to toss those 17 yard touchdowns at least twice on Sunday.

Tony Romo

He's going to shred the Giants. Look for a big day and a sigh of relief at the end of the game with the knowledge that last year is finally behind him. Besides, you just know T.O. is going to have some fun. He always does.

Matt Schuab

Like this guy. Like the Texans this year. Do not like KC at all. Look for 250 and a couple of scores – then look for me to tell me I was right.

GIVE 'EM A CHANCE

Eli Manning

OK. OK little brother, we're going to let you play because it's early and you seem to come out when everyone is healthy. Nobody else around, so look for Manning to find what he can for a few scores in what should be a high scoring game in the suddenly wild NFC East. Yikes.

David Gerrard

He's happy to be starting and even happier to be doing it against the Titans. The running game will open it up and the Titans have nobody to stop him. Should surprise a few people this week.

Steve McNair

Not that McNair is getting better with age, but it's the Natti on Monday night and that means a feast for all. Enjoy the Ravens or get them never more.

Phillip Rivers

Even against Chicago, I say the Kid still gets his. The line will be stacked against LT and Rivers will take what the Defense gives them. Plenty of game film to study and there was plenty of time to study it.

WHERE ARE YOU GOING, Buddy,

Alex Smith

Even against the Cardinals I just don't believe. Gore's hand is broken. Broken. That will come into play in the short passing game. Don't like it.

Jake Delhome

Not this early and not this week. St. Louis has something to prove on Defense and, aside from a few big plays to Steve Smith, they should do it against Carolina.

Any Brown QB

Coin flip. Coin flip!

Al Davis

They still have not named a starter. If Caulpepper gets the nod before tonight, pull the trigger. If not, then well, by now you should know that the black hole is a mysterious place.

J.P. Lossman

I think the kid will have a great year, but Denver has two of the best DB s in the game. There has to be somewhere else to turn for you.

Week 1 Receivers - Starters and Bench Warmers

Hey All.

Before I start on the rundown of Week 1 Receivers, I just wanted to thank my old readers for supporting me and for my new ones for coming over. I'm trying to answer all of your questions as they come in. All questions should receiver answers on the blog post you asked them in.

Keep the comments coming. I like the community we're building.

On to our fantasy!

WR – Start 'EM

Reggie Wayne

Ready for some # 2 DB on week one opening night? If you've been with me through the years, you know that I think Wayne is the best receiver in the game and the fact that he is matched up with the Saints Denfense should make for a great night. This is the year that Wayne did as T.O. did when he stepped out of Rice's shadow and became the Man. He will have a huge night as there will be plenty to go around. If there's one offense that doesn't need any time to get warmed in the regular season it's the colts. Put this guy in and while you're at it...

Marvin Marvin

Harrison will take a backseat to Wayne this year, but riding in the back of the Colts bus is almost more of a pleasure than riding Shotgun. Wayne's emergence will mean that Marvin won't have the double coverage on him and give him the chance to break some ankles with his crisp runs and magic hands. The Saints game has an over / under of , so Thursday night Marvin Marvin should do just fine on the night shift.

Anquon Boldwin / Larry Fitzgerald

For the start of this season, I'm going to list these two as the same player. Do you really know who Leinhart likes better? If you have either, you're going to eat well on Monday Night. If you have both, it's be a feast. The over / under on this game is , and you know they don't think that's going to be all Alex Smith and his rebuilt Electric Cool Aid Bay Area Bus. Let your Cardinals fly in week 1. You already know this. Go with what you know.

Tory Holt

The word on Holt is that he's OK, which is good news for everyone who drafted the steady receiver early in their draft. It's amazing how all training camp injuries. Tory is at home against Carolina who will look to stop Mr. Jackson. When that happens, Holt will have a few chances down the field to do some real damage. The Over / Under there is 42.5, so Vegas thinks the Rams will put some points on the board. So do I.

Andre Johnson

The Kansas City Chiefs this year are going to be like the Raiders of the past two years. Whenever you see someone on your offense starting against these guys, put them in. The Texans are together out the tunnel and Mr. Schaub is going to have a nice debut and with Mr. Green blocking up from and providing a steady run game, this just feels like a game where Johnson is going to get his. Look for a big yardage day and a score.

Steve Smith

Carolina will need points and Smith is always around the ball. Until a solid #2 is established, I can't move smith up to the top. He may make a fool out of me, but I'd rather be a fool early in the year than late. Don't be afriad to play with your new toy. Smith should have big yards and could just break free for a long TD against the suspect Rams secondary. This one could turn into a shoot out, so look for big points here.

Reggie Brown

Love this guy. He's good for a long TD and many yards this game. Philly opens up against Green Bay and these two always light up the scoreboard. McNabb will look to silence whatever critics are left out there by putting on a Blue Angels like display and Brown will be the recipient of the glory. If you have him as a #2, your flyers are going to be in for a nice payday. Use him and never take him out.

Jerry Porter

You bet. Raiders on the field. Against Detroit at home. Porter is likely placed down towards the end of your bench and he should be there for most of the games this year, but Detroit lost their #1 corner to free agency and are on the road in Oaktown. Let Jerry and his kids drive the bus for a little while and you'll be rewarded for believing in the Silver and Black. Either that or my email box will be full of hate mail – but I don't think so.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh

Still can't spell it without looking it up. He's ahead of Chad Johnson because the Ravens Defense is nasty and they don't want Johnson dancing on them this Monday Night. T.J. Carson can look off any receiver and will give T.J. all the chances he wants to make those tough, bone crushing catches over in the middle and in the corner of the endzone. If you're thinking about it, don't think. Do it. Do it.

Chad Johnson

He wants to dance on Monday night. If the man wants to dance, you better bring him to the dance.

Marques Colston

They're going to put up points and the sophomore wants in on the action. He would be nearer to the top if anyone really knew just how healthy he way. Should be fine, but just to be sure, if you are one of those coaches who drafted 3 stud receivers and can only play 2, he might be the one to sit. If not, let him in there. The Saints will be Marching and marching and marching......

Terrell Owens

Never, EVER – never underestimate T.O. Just put him in there and let him play. You knew what you were getting into.

Lee Evens

What can I say. I'm not going to be responsible for leaving a 77 yard Touchdown bomb on the bench. You believed and now you must leave him in there until you see a game break and soil yourself.

GIVE THEM A SHOT

Roy Williams

I have a feeling this game is going to produce some points. With Tatum Bell hurting, Williams will carry the offensive load against the Ders. Roy usually starts out strong, and seeing as how there were no setbacks this off season and that it's his second with Jon Kitna under the Martz system, he might surprise you. Let him go but make sure you send a buddy with him.

Javon Walker

He's too hot and cold to have in the upper bracket, but he's a nice #2 receiver if you have him. Jay Cutler has not proven himself consistent enough but hey, it's early. Cutler loves to look for him deep and with Rod Smith slowly drifting into the sunset, Javon will look to carry the Broncos. Besides, that Mohawk is tight.

Hines Ward

He'll lose touches to Santio Holmes, but not that many. This is Cleveland folks. Big Ben will look to show off his new offense against the Browns and Mr. Ward knows how to get open near the stripe. I think Parker is going to get the work and this game will be over early, but not before Ward shows up for work. Send him in and sleep well until Sunday.

Vincent Jackson

This guy will move up quickly during the season. The Bears will game plan for LT and Antonio, leaving Jackson to get some big gains. The Bears Defensive Backs are fast but they take chances. If Jackson gets his way it could be a big payday and fine find at a #2 receiver.

Joey Galloway

Everyone sleeps on Joey. Seattle's defense is paper thin and prone to big plays and that's just what Mr. Galloway does. If you can't find a solid #3 receiver to go, let this Tampa Bay MAN do the job. You'll be smiling come Monday morning.

GRAB SOME PINE

Calvin Johnson

Not ready yet. Not yet. Week 4 or 5. Don't start your rookie receivers in week 1. The most that will happen is that they'll make fools of you (and me) and you can put them in there for the rest of the year. Let him sit, especially against the Raiders at home.

Plaxico Burress

Plax has been hurt and the Cowboys are going to test his threshold for pain. If you have other options, look there. Plax is going to need something special to make it through the rest of this season. Besides, I'm just not an Eli Manning Guy.

Santana Moss

Not this week. They will Run Portis till he breaks and then give it to Betts until he does the same. Jason Campbell will be brought along slowly and that means no bombs down the field unless they are desperate. Nobody is desperate week 1.

Bears Receivers

Diego is going to shut everyone down in this game. Going to be a bloody. BLOODY.

Randy Moss

He's hurting and you can't afford to wait until Sunday. Don't let him ruin your team. Trade him now.

Week 1 Running Backs - Starters and Bench Warmers

Hope everyone had a great draft. Now it's time to play.

As the year goes on, each week I will feature a list on who to start, who to bench and who might surprise.

These will all be listed before on Thurdays (RBs) Fridays (WR and Denfense's). Since this week starts with a Thursday game, The list is out early. WRs will be available on Wed. If you have any questions about chosing between palyers to start on your team, leave me a post and I'll answer it on the blog.

This is week one, so it's really a shot in the dark, but somebody has to take it.

Week 1 Top RBS Start Em.

SURE BETS

1. Joe Adai

You can be sure that Indi will try TRY to slow the game down against the Saints, so while Peyton will go for a big one, you know that means that Mr. Adai is going to put on his party hat. Let's not forget that it's a home coming game for Joe and he played his college days on the same field. You just know he's sitting on a rooftop in the crescent city playing Glory Days and thinking about making a remix with Master P to sell at the local corner stores. Joe's going to pay off big time and is the surest thing in the land come opening day. You don't need me to tell you this but I'm going to tell you anyway.

2. Willie Parker

Match ups. That's why you don't See LT here. Willie draws the Browns on the opening weeks. He's fresh and rested from sitting most of the pre-season. Nagging injuries don't mean anything. These are football players. They're all hurt. Willie should see the ball plenty in the second half against the browns who are just playing the first 5 games of the year with tackling a tackling dummy at the QB spot until Quinn comes in. Parker should break the goal line 2wice and have tons of yardage as Big Ben will stretch the field. If you drafted him, don't be afraid to use him now.

3. LT

Even going against the Bears, you just need to play him. The reason why he's not #1 is that the Bears will have weeks and fresh fangs to game plan for the money maker, so don't look for a huge game from your #1, but he should bust out for at least a TD, which is what you would expect. The Bears D is on the road and San Diego has been reading their Super Bowl hype – but the Bears were there. Expect a good game but not a 3TD 150 yard one.

4. Steven Jackson

Carolina on the Turf under the dome after Mr. Jackson has been pacing around the St. Louis River in hopes of taking the Greatest Back alive title from LT spells a good day for Jackson. Still, you should respect Carolina's Defense enough not to expect a human highlight reel. If Tory Holt plays, I would be Jackson at #1, but as of press time, I'm not sure Mr. Holt's knees is as healthy as the mighty warrior with the horns on the side of his head. You can't sit him, but look for more points to put in there with some chance calls just in case he gets stuffed once in awhile.

5.Larry Johnson

Don't believe the hype that he's not in football shape. LJ said last year that when he runs, he runs for every black man that ever played the game of football. That's a lot of people to carry with you on your way to the goal line. Johnson will have a little rust, but the Texans should prove not match for the mighty bull. Pencil him in for 100 yards and a touch. Why did he hold out? You carry the ball over 400 times in a year and see if you want to put your body through another training camp. The man is smart and ready to destroy again.

6. Reggie Bush

If you read my column enough, you'll see that I believe Reggie Bush is the best football player in the country. You know he does too, he just doesn't go around telling people he is. Prime Time, Thursday night, with the entire nation watching only him play, you know that he wants to make good. McCalister might take a goal line carry away, but Reggie will have enough rushing and receiving yards to boost your line up. The chances are that you got Bush in Round 2, so if you match him with another back, you'll be out of the box quickly with a victory. Run Reggie, RUN!

7. Mo Jones Drew

Hey Mo! Go crazy at home vs. the Titans. The Jags are going to Mash the ball and Jones Drew will get plenty of chances. Don't worry about Fred Taylor or any of the other crew. If you're in a yardage league, this guy is going to get you what you want and get it for you all day long. Drew has the luxury of saving his gas and not having to go out there for 20-25 carries a game. That means quality shots and a determination to prove himself. Look for a big score and tons of yards from the former little baby Bruin. His sophomore season will have no slumps.

8.Frank Gore

Yes he has a broken hand but that will mean nothing against the Arizona Cardinals. Gore has been resting all pre-season and is ready to shine in his Monday night Debut. Look for the Little Frank that could destroy the birds in the Bay area and rumble to a hundred plus a score. If not for the broken hand, Mr. Gore would be on the top of the list but, since it's week one and I haven't seen him all year, we'll tuck him in at number 8 and see what he does from there.

9.LaMont Jordan

What's this? A Raider in a top tier offensive category? Well, if you were shrewd enough to pick Jordan up at the end of your draft for a bucket of goat feed and half a rabbit's foot, now might be the time to use him. Opening at home, in Detroit, the Raiders have the momentum right now of having last season behind them and the chance to be Rocky this year. Jordan has that and more, with 4 games to prove himself as the starter. Detroit should give him plenty of chances to look good.

10.Willis McGahee

Willis plays on Monday night, in the spotlight, for the first time in his career and he's doing it against a Bengals team that feels it can score more than it gives up. B More will look to control the flow of the game and that means Willis will see many a carry on this evening. After a big time contract for the little guy and, remember, B More was 13 -3 last year, this team is ready to roll. Look for them to punch the Natti in the chops and just McGahee as a swift right hook to do so.

GET THEM READY

1.DeAngelo Williams

Playing against St. Louis and behind Mr. Foster, Williams will bust right out of the gate. There's no way Jon Fox sticks with Foster if he starts out slow, so look for the speedy Williams to surprise you in the opening week. He's no longer a rookie and will not run with any hesitation.

2. Ahman Green

It's the start of the season, he's looked good so far and he's playing Kansas City. Enough Said. If you are short a # 2 or a flex, Green might earn his paycheck for you this week.

3. Shaun Alexander

Yes, Shaun is down here. Tampa Bay has improved their Defense and you can bet they'll be focused on getting Shaun slowed down. We don't know how well the Hawks will do with the loss of Darryl Jackson – they haven't played that well before without him. If you have him, use him, but don't expect a huge game from the big man. He'll have plenty this year, but just not this week. Make sure you have points coming from another place.

4.Lawrence Maroney

Is he healthy? If he is, he should be higher, but we just can tell this early in the season. Use him but don't expect a good night kiss. However, sometimes, Holding hands is OK.

5.Edge James

Monday night against the Niners should be a big time scoring game. We're going to see just how much the future Hall of Fame RB has left in the tank. If Arizona decided to play ball control, you might have a pleasant surprise from Mr. James who has his eyes on the prize this year.

GRAB SOME PINE

1.Marshwan Lynch

Biggest bust since Anna Nichole Smith. I think this guy went so high in Fantasy Leagues because the Bills are putting him at their starting back. He didn't do anything in the pre-season and was a CAL Running Back. Don't put him in until he proves he can do it.

2. Ronnie Brown

Ronnie Brown.

3. Brain Westbrook

The Packers defense is going to be nasty this year. You heard it hear. This will not be Westbrook's week, especially with Mr. McNabb looking to put himself back in the spotlight.

4.Jarious Norwood / Warrick Dunn

I would not start any back this year against Minnsotta's run D. They're fast enough to keep up with the kid.

Last Minute Receivers

OK. Thanks for all of your emails. So, from what you've been saying, receivers are a big question mark for everyone. I'm sure you all are in touch with who you want leading your receiving corps, but here are some late round receivers to scoop up when the pickings get thin.

1. Reggie Brown (Phil) - Not really a sleeper but he's going late in drafts. The #1 wide out in Philly will be a top ten selection next year, so don't sleep on him. He's got hands, experience and speed. A former Number 1 pick on his way to big money in the LEAGUE, Brown will give you the meat you need every week to match up with your number one. For my money, he is a #1, but you can pair him with a stud and have a Bomb Squad to call your own.

2. Patrick Crayton (Dal)- Terry Glenn is growing slow and T.O. will be out a few games each year, so young Patrick should step it up. Another thing to consider is that both he and Romo both played back up roles, so they spent much time practicing together on the 2nd team. Chemistry is key for receivers and QBs, so look for these two to make it interesting.

3. Jerry Porter (Oak) - Raiders are hands off in most drafts and with good reason. However, late in round 10, if your are struggling for a wide out, why not take a chance on the former #1 receiver and now still #1 receiver for the Ders. They look better than last year and Kifflin will get the ball downfield. He's a good #3 WR and might surprise you with a few TDs against less than stellar defenders who are letting down because they might have a cake walk in Oakland.

4. Isac Bruce (Stl) Bruce a sleeper? These days he is. With Bruce, pick him up late and watch him grab a few TDs while Holt recovers from his knee injury. Not long ago he was a top 5 pick, but these days you can get him as a number 3. Not bad.

5. Muhsin Muhammad / Bernard Berrian (Chi) I know. I know. Rex Grossman. Still, these two guys combined for 11 Rec TDs last year and those could be yours. Chose whichever you like, but remember, Chicago will toss a few bombs a game and often times strike for a big TD because the defense is playing up. These two should both be available late in the draft, so rounding out your roster with them is better than taking Joe Horn, Terry Glenn or Matt Jones. Production people, production.

6. Dwayne Jarrett - Rookie Receivers. You've read it all. However, Jarrett stayed for his full 4 years at USC and has great hands along with a chip on his shoulder after being drafted in the 2nd round. Steven Smith will draw the #1 corner of the defense, leaving Jarrett open for some endzone looks. Don't expect huge numbers, just some solid production on bye weeks and a few surprises here and there.

There you go. Now, I promised the wife I'd take the Shuttle Bus to Ikea for the day. Seeing as how the football season is starting, shopping when I can keeps the balance.

Keep the questions and emails flowing, I'm enjoying the community we're building.

Happy Drafting all.
